After a long career in the commercial world, Iím exploring the more creative side of life by making 3 dimensional objects - mainly animal sculptures in clay. I love the world of animals and am fascinated by the way we relate, particularly to domesticated animals, so my sculpture tries to capture the personality behind creatures we take for granted. Humour is an important part of that.
Clay is a lovely material to work with and the plasticity of it allows for real exploration of subjects. I am currently interested in how, even in absence of specific detail, the spirit of an animal or person can be captured.
